National Assembly to pass 2016 budget today

Barring any last minute changes, the National Assembly will pass the 2016 budget today March 23rd. The Senate and the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Appropriation presented their reports to members of both chambers yesterday March 22nd. The total of the 2016 budget is put at N6.07tn.

Belgian police source name El-Bakraoui brothers as the two suicide bombers in Brussels Airport attacks


Two of the men who carried out attacks in Brussels on Tuesday have been named by Belgian media as brothers Khalid Brahim, El-Bakraoui. The RTBF broadcaster said the pair were known to police. It is believed at least one was among three suspects seen in a CCTV image at Zaventem airport.

Nike suspends Maria Sharapova after admitting to failed drugs test

SportsWear manufacturing giant Nike have suspended Maria Sharapova's $50m deal after the Russian athlete admitted to using a banned drug. The WTA ranked World No. 7 admitted in her press conference yesterday that she had been using performance enhancer drug meldonium for the last 10 years as part of a doctor's prescription for health issues and didn't know it was banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency in December.
