Kanu Nwankwo Businessman sues ex Super Eagles forward for N1bn

The complainant now seeks damages for the pain that has been inflicted on him as a result of the expired law suit
A businessman and lawyer, Ayoola Gam-Ikon has filed N1bn law suit against former Arsenal and Super Eagles captain, Kanu Nwankwo, seeking damages for wrong persecution.

According to Punch News, the claimant was on March 5, 2013 arraigned on 19 counts of fraud by the police following a complaint against him by Kanu before the case was struck out based on the counsel of the persecution party.
The complainant now seeks damages for the pain that has been inflicted on him as a result of the expired law suit.
A statement in the claimant’s law suit reads, “The claimant was devastated by the effect of his arraignment and imprisonment at Ikoyi Prison during the perfection of bail and pendency of a criminal charge and has been running from one hospital to another for medical assistance owing to his debilitating ill health and has only just started showing signs of improvement.”
According to Gam-Ikon, he and Kanu started a hotel business, The Hardley Apartments Limited on April 22, 2004 after he quitted his job as a banker.
Issues occurred during the course of paying the N457m bank loan which they had received for the purpose of setting up the business.
