29-year-old Abiodun Oyenola, an employee of Merrybet Gold
Limited, a sports betting company was arraigned yesterday before an
Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for defrauding the company of N3,097,066.
Oyenola had on November 17, 2015 about 9:30a.m. at the company’s office located at No. 108, Ikota Shopping Complex, Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lekki, Lagos, conspired with others at large to steal N3,097,066 through different payout processes found to be fraudulent.
According to the CEO of the company, Mr. Opeoluwa Fashakin, in a statement to the police, Oyenola was employed in 2014 in charge of payouts. At a stage, the company started noticing irregularities concerning payout processes which were processed to the bank for higher values.
