Wike’s Spokesman Resigns

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, has resigned from the position.
Mr. Tariah, in a resignation letter to Governor Wike on Friday, said unfolding developments in the State, which he did not elaborate on, indicated that his services were no longer needed.

It would be recalled that the media aide recently came under fire for alleging that recent verdicts by the court and election tribunal was a “judicial gang-up” against his boss, a statement Wike publicly dissociated himself from.
However, in his letter of resignation, Mr. Tariah noted that throughout his service as Media Adviser, he did not threaten any journalist or police officer.
“However, with unfolding developments, it is irrefutable that my services are no longer needed”, he said.
He thanked the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve him and the state as a Special Adviser and wished him God’s guidance and blessings.
The governor has not responded Mr. Tariah’s resignation.
